Okay, the base colors are finally finished. Now just for the shading. I'll start that in a bit. It's taken a lot of work so far. Hopefully it'll turn out okay.

Hey guys. I'm about to call it a night. Thanks for joining Matt and myself in the stream this evening. We'll be holding off streaming again until June 12th to give my wrist a bit more time to settle down.

For now, here are the base colors of Issue 16-17 covers that were done during the stream this evening. I am so sore. I'll finish the bases and hopefully a good portion of the shading tomorrow.

The inks for the covers of Issue 16 and 17 are finished. Here's the inks at about half the actual working size.

The annoying thing is, I did each section on its own layer in Manga Studio to make changing the line colors, as well as adding the title blocks, easier. Unfortunately, I couldn't export the whole image into Photoshop at once, I had to cut the image into two sections. So, all my lines ended up on the same layer after all. I can work around this, it's just a little frustrating.

Okay, I'm going to relax the wrist for a bit until the stream this evening. It's feeling pretty rough. Later.

Hey guys. It's Wednesday, which means it's streaming night.

Streaming will begin at 8pm US Eastern Standard Time.</a> Come join us as we hang out, chat, answer questions, and listen to music. You don't need a Ustream account to watch or chat, but having one will let you add your name to your comments. You can also use your account to follow me, which gives you a notice when streaming begins and me a bit of an ego boost.

The stream will continue for about an hour or so. I'll be working on digitally coloring a comic page. I'm not sure which one just yet.

Unfortunately, this will be the last stream for a while. While the wrist is showing some improvement, it's still in pain by the end of the day. And I'm finding that I really don't enjoy doing the streams while in pain. I'm afraid all I want to do at the end of the day is let the wrist rest for the evening. I'm sorry.

At the moment I've half of the covers for Issue 16 and 17 inked and my wrist is already unhappy. I'm going to try to finish the inking up so I can color tomorrow. With Matt and myself heading out of town for the weekend, I need these covers finished by Friday evening.

Okay, enough break time. Let's see if I can't finish these inks. Later.

Okay, the cover to Issues 16 and 17 of CN:H is sketched and ready for inking. So let's see, inks tomorrow with colors Thursday and Friday?

The line down the middle is where the image will be split for each individual issue.

I realized that I needed a bit of filler for tomorrow's CN:H update. Issue 16 will begin on the 20th. I'm going to start taking a week off between issues to give me a little breathing room for covers and issue layout.

I've been addicted to the Spectrum books lately and love all the digital paintings that I see in them. So, I thought I'd give it a try.

Here's a rough idea of Gillian's pose from the upcoming cover. This was my first time trying this type of loose digital coloring. While I like how it turned out, I'd like to do more practice and study before actually using this style for a cover.

Here are the various steps. I didn't ink due to this just being for practice.

That was fun! I'll have to try this coloring style again. It sure is a lot faster than my usual method. I'm just not certain how to set the stylus so the output looks more like paint. I'm sure there's a manual out there somewhere. I just need to find it. Until then, practice.
